To join a cooking class is the best way to fully embrace our culture and our way of living. Sharing the experience with the people you love creates memories to bring home (or back with you).

Since we are in the Chianti region, wine will indeed have a great role in our cooking classes. Pairing the right wine with the right food is essential if you want to taste the real Tuscany.

How does it work? Cooking classes are hands- on, last 2-3 hours, and are followed by lunch or dinner to enjoy the fruits of your labour! Private cooking classes are available, at your location, or either on a traditional Tuscan farm where we combine it with a wine tour and tasting session in Chianti, or in Florence city centre where we combine it with a food market tour. Open group classes are held on Wednesdays at Fattoria Santo Stefano in Greve In Chianti. The lessons are either in the morning, or in the afternoon. They last 2-3 hours and include the meal. Lessons are in English. The price includes the materials, the practical lesson in the kitchen and table service for the meal. Children are very welcome to participate in our cookery lessons. Private cooking class at your location, at our farm in Chianti or in Florence city centre.

HOMEMADE PASTA

A TRUE TUSCAN COOKING CLASS

Rediscover the joy of having dirty and maybe even sticky hands! Learn to knead, roll and shape the dough along with a delicious homemade sauce. Handmade pasta is truly a work of art and this course will help bring out the talented culinary artist in you! Learn how to mix the ingredients, roll out fresh pasta, and create beautiful shapes of artisanal filled and sliced pasta. We will make two types of typical Italian fresh pasta, with sauces, a seasonal appetizer, and a cake that will make your mouth water!
Marvel at the final masterpiece which is sure to taste incredible.

Would you like to replicate the menu of a typical Tuscan Sunday lunch? This course offers an overview of the many tasty traditional specialties, ranging from selected cold cuts and cheeses, to different types of pasta, rigorously kneaded by hand.
There are also several plant-based dishes, which have become internationally famous for their rustic taste, such as pappa al pomodoro and ribollita. A course capable of satisfying both the eyes and the palate, perfectly paired with our fine selection of Tuscan wines.

Eating healthily does not mean eating flavorless food.
This course is based on learning cooking techniques that favor the use of fresh and local ingredients. The recipes will be vegan and gluten-free.

ITALIAN CUISINE BASICS

This particular course will help you discover the benefits of one of the healthiest diets in the world. Studies have found that the Mediterranean diet is associated with reduced risk factors for cardiovascular disease. It is recognized by the World Health Organization as a healthy and sustainable food model and as an intangible cultural asset by the National Organization for Education, Science and Culture.
Mediterranean cuisine is healthy thanks to the ingredients that form the basis of this diet. While there is no single definition of the Mediterranean diet, it is typically rich in vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans, nuts, seeds, and olive oil.
The main components of the Mediterranean diet include daily consumption of vegetables, fruits, whole grains and healthy fats; weekly intake of fish, poultry, beans and eggs; moderate servings of dairy products; and limited intake of red meat. Red wine is consumed in moderation.

Let our experts guide you in a tasting of “pure gold”: you will immediately notice the character and personality of Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Shake and slightly warm the glass with your hand and inhale the scent of the oil to compare it with vegetable aromas: freshly cut grass, apple, green almonds, tomato, etc. A small amount distributed in the mouth reveals its nuances: fruity, bitter, or peppery tastes, as well as other sensory attributes.
